1. Scope of this policy
This policy is the controlled public source for MAKE Institute of Future Industries tuition, the application fee, payment conditions, cancellations and refunds. It applies to applicants and students of MAKE Institute of Future Industries challenge programmes. Your individual offer and invoice set out the amount, the payment schedule, the due date and the payment reference that apply to you, and they are read together with this policy.
2. Current programme fees
A MAKE Institute of Future Industries challenge programme is two years long and is structured across four semesters.
- Tuition is €5,900 per semester.
- Tuition for all four semesters is €23,600.
- Where it is confirmed in your offer or invoice, a semester may be paid in two instalments of €2,950.
All amounts are in euro (EUR). The exact payment schedule and the due date that apply to you are shown in your individual invoice.
3. What tuition covers
Tuition covers the delivery of the programme: teaching, project supervision, assessment, access to the programme's learning materials and the use of MAKE Institute of Future Industries facilities and equipment for programme work. Tuition does not cover travel, accommodation, living costs, health or travel insurance, visa or immigration fees, or personal equipment and materials that are not part of the programme, unless your offer states otherwise.
4. Application fee
The application fee is €190. It is invoiced separately from tuition, and it is payable in line with the instructions in your invoice. Once paid, the application fee is non-refundable, except where a duplicate payment has been made. A duplicate payment is refunded to the account it came from after we have verified it.
5. Payment instructions and references
Only follow the payment instructions and the reference shown in your individual MAKE Institute of Future Industries invoice.
- Your invoice identifies the amount, the due date, the currency and the payment reference that apply to you.
- Always use the reference shown on the invoice, so that the payment can be matched to your record.
- Do not make a payment on the basis of an informal message, a screenshot or an older page. If an instruction looks unusual, contact admissions@studyatmake.com before paying.
- Your bank may apply its own transfer charges. Those charges are outside our control and are not refunded by MAKE Institute of Future Industries.
Where a payment is not received by the due date stated in your invoice, we will contact you. An offer or a place may lapse where the required payment is not made and no alternative arrangement has been agreed in writing.
6. Cancellation and refund rule for local and EU applicants
For local and EU applicants, MAKE Institute of Future Industries applies the following rule to tuition paid for the affected semester when a written cancellation or refund request is received:
- 15 or more calendar days before the published semester start date: 100% refund.
- Less than 15 calendar days before the published semester start date, but before the semester starts: 50% refund.
- On or after the published semester start date: no refund.
The "affected semester" is the semester for which the tuition was paid. The date the written request is received by MAKE Institute of Future Industries determines which line applies. Where a 100% refund applies, it is paid without deduction.
7. Visa-refusal refund rule for international applicants
An international applicant who receives an official visa refusal may request a refund of tuition paid for the affected semester by sending:
- the official visa-refusal notice; and
- a written refund request within 30 days after the refusal.
Where these conditions are met, MAKE Institute of Future Industries provides a 100% tuition refund for the affected semester, with no deduction. The refund is returned to the original bank account after an authorised review. The responsible authority decides visa and immigration applications. MAKE Institute of Future Industries does not guarantee a visa or immigration outcome. If a refusal is received after the semester has started, tell us immediately so that the request can be assessed against this rule.
8. Other cancellations
- If MAKE Institute of Future Industries cancels or does not run an intake or a programme for which you have paid tuition, the tuition paid for the affected semester is refunded in full.
- If you withdraw after the semester start date, the rule in section 6 applies, and no tuition refund is due for that semester.
- Not attending classes, not responding to messages, or not making a payment is not a cancellation. A cancellation must be requested in writing.
- If you are enrolled and a refund is approved, the refund covers tuition only, unless this policy or your offer states otherwise.
9. How to request a refund
Send your written request and the supporting information to admissions@studyatmake.com. Include:
- your full name;
- your application or student reference;
- the affected semester;
- the amount you are requesting; and
- the reason for the request, with the documents that support it.
MAKE Institute of Future Industries reviews the request against this policy and confirms the outcome through an authorised channel. We aim to complete a review within 30 days of receiving a complete request, and to pay an approved refund to the original bank account. If we need more information, we will tell you what is missing. Keep the confirmation you receive. Do not treat a refund as agreed until you have received written confirmation from MAKE Institute of Future Industries.
10. Duplicate and incorrect payments
If you pay twice for the same invoice, or pay more than the amount due, contact admissions@studyatmake.com with the payment details. Once the payment is verified, the duplicate or excess amount is refunded to the account it came from. If you pay too little, we will tell you the remaining balance and the date by which it should be paid.
11. Invoices and payment records
Invoices are issued electronically and are sent to the email address connected to your account. Keep your invoices and payment confirmations, because they record what you were asked to pay and what you paid. If you need a copy of an invoice or a confirmation of payment, contact admissions@studyatmake.com with your reference. Payment records are kept in line with the Privacy Notice.
12. Your legal rights
This policy does not limit any right that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including consumer rights and any right to cancel that applies to you. Nothing in this policy prevents you from contacting a consumer protection body or another competent authority about a payment dispute.
13. Updates to this policy
MAKE Institute of Future Industries may publish a new version of this policy for a future intake, for example when fees or payment arrangements change. The current version is always the version published on the website. The version of the policy that applied when you applied, together with the terms stated in your individual offer and invoice, remain part of your application record.
